Why I started this blog
November 13, 2024
Hi. Thanks for clicking on this website and somehow ending up all the way here. If you're reading this, you probably didn't intend to be here. You likely wanted to be reading something else, watching a video, doing literally anything else, etc. But for some reason now you are still here. Thanks for that.
I am writing this blog as a sort of attempt to push myself forward. Too much has been going on in the world around all of us as of late. Too many awful things, and yet many wonderful things as well. For instance, there is a war happening in Sudan right now. Did you know that? Thousands upon thousands of people are being killed or displaced from their homes, yet over here where I live (the USA), I don't think I have heard about this crisis. Not once.
Yet, on the positive side, a new spacecraft was just launched (the Europa Clipper) to do a super close flyby to Europa in a few years. The Clipper will get about 25km from the surface of Europa, which is so close that we will be able to learn if there is water under the surface. This is extraordinary, inspirational, and altogether just awesome.
It shocks me sometimes how so many thoughts can come into my mind every day. I think about historical events, current day political problems, scientific advancements, books and stories, music, and so much more. It feels like I haven't been sharing these thoughts and eventually that I will forget them. Maybe I won't ever develop these thoughts into something real, something meaningful. But to answer the question of "why did you bother writing this blog?" the answer is simple: to get my thoughts out into the world.
This is going to be a weird and bumpy ride. One week I may talk about some crazy political whirlwind that was just kicked up, and another week I may be on a rant about Burkina Faso and what's going on there. Maybe another I may talk about my standpoint on religion, and in yet another I will discuss my thoughts on a book I just read. As you can probably tell, this blog is going to be endlessly interesting. Well, I hope so.
If you'd like to come along for the ride, feel free to sign up for the newsletter. I'm never going to charge money for this. I can hardly believe anyone would ever do that. Instead, I just want to invite you to email me any of your thoughts, reactions to my posts, videos you watched, or anything else. I love to think. If you think you have something you'd like me to think about, send it my way. My email is: endlessreverieblog@gmail.com.
And with that, thus begins our quest for thoughts old and new. I don't know what's to come, but I hope it is going to be as fun for you as it will be for me. Let's start thinking and enter this endless reverie.
